2011 has arrived and 2010 is a past for everyone. TV channels have this habit of taking the round-up of the previous events when a year comes to an end. I decided to look back how 2010 shaped up for me. To be honest, 2010 had been the year I was waiting for. It turned fortunes for me with the job that I was yearning for. After getting into the job too there was fear of the "Exit Procedures" and I had to clear in the training which I did in my second attempt. I am basically a guy who keeps things to himself but this company needed people who are aggressive. Hence I changed myself, well I would like to say like that, but it was not the case to be. I pretended to be aggressive through what me and my friends call the "Active Participation". I got into trouble because of that , for example just to show that am attentive and not sleeping(the truth is the other way around) I would jump in the middle to ask or answer questions that would obviously be the most dumb one and I used to wear my spectacles in the middle of a session for one reason and this happens to be mostly in the second half after lunch. Batchmates usually identify me when I do that power nap. Anyway I cleared the training and as it is always said , a break is mandatory between hectic work and my power nap did just more than that J.
I was waiting for myself to be put into a project right away. But they put me into a internal project. I thought I will do it half minded. But then came the news that they are gonna send my resume for the GT Nexus client interview. Wow , it felt great, but there was no time for preparation, hardly a few days left and I was supposed to be travelling to bangalore that week. I cancelled that and came in the weekends and took a crash course on Microstrategy and how to face the interviewer. A special Thanks to Harini for her efforts. Everyone were talking about traveling and staying in Bangalore before I even cleared the interview and the expectation was huge. I was in a situation where I had to live up to the expectation or I will be the talking point the next day to many .This was a great opportunity and I had to win it. The call came exactly in the time specified and I talked with sheer confidence. I don’t know whether I answered the questions technically correctly but the way I said them would have had the interviewer(Todd) confused. Todd was such a nice guy and till date has been a fantastic person. My batch mates were very eager to know how I did and I said I was able to answer most of the questions. The next day Maruthu during the break came up with the news that I had cleared the interview and I was happy for it. I started on April 2nd, a date that I will always remember .
The working environment was awesome and everyone were very friendly. I used to stay in my brothers flat and had to travel about 52 kms daily to and fro to reach office. Little did I know that I will be an employee of this client company. Yes, I am now a proud employee of GT Nexus. The company shifted itself to a new location farther away and it was getting difficult for me to reach office. I and my friend decided to take a room nearby and after a brief stay in Kormangala PG, here I am in a rented house in Marappa Garden. Now office is just 2.5 kms away and I am traveling by my new bi-cycle, saving fuel for the future generations J.
My parents are happy and they feel that am in the right place and they are not worried much because they think brother is around to take care of me and sure he is. I do visit him during weekends, spend some lovely time with his kid. I even had a chance to go on a adventure trip to Thada with my school friends and it was simply awesome. Lot of adventure and lot of clicks with my Nikon Digi.
I would never forget 2010, as this is the year that helped me rejuvenate and reinvent myself. I hope 2011 would be a more eventful and more happier year not only for me but for everyone. It is said that "You can never relish success if you have not faced failure" and am really relishing it.
